Soundtrap.com

Soundtrap is a great resource when creating music or voice recordings. It allows you to use instruments or imported music along with your voice to create multiple projects in any subject area.

We have used Soundtrap a lot in my class. From podcasts, voice-overs, and special effects, to book reports, raps, and PSAś. Soundtrap has been a great tool and allows you to use the vast majority of the site for free!

My Experience with Technology

It started.....

with a love for technology outside of the classroom. While attending Newman I was lucky to have Max Frazier as my advisor and teacher. Dr. Frazier actually wrote a book about using technology in a classroom. He showed us the importance of bringing it into the classroom.

My first year at the Middle School, while teaching Math we implemented a lot of technology. I used a Microsoft Surface Pro that was bluetoothed to the projector so that I would not be stuck to the board. It gave me the ability to move around the room, work the math problem on the board, and show any additional resources all from the palm of my hand. When I made the transition to World History in year three, I was extremely excited simply because I knew the projects and technology would grow. We through out the idea of taking a test and have moved to a project where students can show what they know, rather than what the simply remember in the moment. Projects mean more technology!

If I had to mention a strength it would be finding new things to use in the classroom to keep kids engaged. We constantly try and use the new thing. At the same time that is in a way a weakness. Every new thing we try takes a little extra time to implement and understand. We cover less content than we probably should, but the technology is always evolving in our classroom.

https://www.wevideo.com/

We use WeVideo in order for students to create their own videos to share with the class. WeVideo gives them a more simplified format that Adobe Premiere, yet has more features than a normal iMovie or similar product. The websiteś purpose is simply to combine video, pictures, music, and text to create videos.

We have created commercials, news reports, PSAś, short movies, along with other projects all while using WeVideo.  This is a great website with endless possibilities for students in all subject areas!
